What is manual osteopathy?

Manual osteopathy is a healthcare profession that seeks to help the body heal itself, using its innate force, by tending the musculoskeletal system, and removing blockages that could affect the blood flow to different organs. The discipline was created by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still in 1874. Manual osteopathy could be practiced in many ways but my preference is using it to treat musculoskeletal issues. This could be done by utilizing mobilizations, rehabilitation, physiotherapy modalities, and osteopathic muscle work.

Lifestyle and Osteopathy
As a nutritionist, I help my clients with one type of lifestyle adjustments to live a healthier life. Two of the other aspect of lifestyle are exercising (being active) and having a healthy musculoskeletal system (including having a good posture). As a manual osteopath I can help you with those.

Why Did I Choose Manual Osteopathy
Manual Osteopathy can be a great adjunction to my nutrition practice. Nutrition helps with one's lifestyle to promote a healthier body, and so does manual osteopathy. While good nutrition helps one tend to their internal integrity, manual osteopathy tends to their frame. Utilizing manual osteopathy, I can ensure my clients are active, exercise in balance and moderation, have a healthy frame, and do not harbor pain. These in turn might reduces their stress too, adding to a healthier lifestyle. I specifically prefer manual osteopathy's gentle approach, which allows me to be more effective in treating those who might suffer from inflammatory arthritis, like rheumatoid arthritides or fibromyalgia.
